Judge Anthony Bonner is a lifelong resident of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area,
committed to serving his community and upholding the rule of law. A proud local, he graduated from Putnam City West High School before earning his Bachelors degree in Political Science and Philosophy minor, and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Experience
That Matters Prior to his service as District Judge in Oklahoma County, Judge Bonner established a robust career as an experienced civil litigator and trial lawyer, successfully managing hundreds of cases and participating in numerous trials across Oklahoma. His diverse legal background includes roles in both private practice and as in-house counsel. Crucially, Judge Anthony has a long-standing commitment to equal justice, having served as Staff Counsel with Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma.
In this role, he provided essential legal services to the indigent community in the greater OKC area, ensuring access to justice for the most vulnerable. Early in his career, he gained valuable experience and insight into the appellate process by clerking for the Honorable Judge David B. Lewis at the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

OUTREACH
He actively works to develop future legal professionals by hosting a summer internship program with local law schools. He also created an educational program designed to increase high school, middle school, and elementary students; understanding of Oklahoma courts and the judicial system.

LEADERSHIP
He currently serves as the President-elect of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, sits on the Professionalism Committee of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and is an active member of the OBA-Association of Black Lawyers and the William J. Holloway, Jr. American Inn of Court.

Youth & Service
He mentors young men through the Oklahoma City Guide Right/Kappa League program. Prior to serving on the bench, he coached youth sports and served on boards including the Urban League Community Housing and the Douglass High School Academy of Law & Public Safety.
Judge Bonner and his wife, Avis, reside in the eastern OKC metro area with their four children. They remain deeply involved in their church and the community they call home.
